Fortescue’s Pilbara Transmission Project aims to integrate the company’s iron ore mining and port operations in the Pilbara into one common 220kV network.

The Pilbara Transmission Project consists of 275km of high-voltage transmission lines connecting Fortescue’s mine sites.

Our work at Stage 1 of the project comprises the construction of 223km of 220kV dual circuit transmission lines connecting the Solomon, Cloudbreak, Eliwana and North Star mine sites.

The scope also includes 4x 220kV terminal substations and 2x overhead fibre OPGW.

Completion of the project aims to integrate Fortescue’s iron ore mining and port operations in the Pilbara into one common 220kV network.

This will enable Fortescue’s existing Solomon Mine power station to supply power to the $2.6 billion Iron Bridge Magnetite Project, and connect to other assets.
