Powerlines Plus were engage by Forge Power on behalf of Rio Tinto for the fabrication, supply and installation of approximately 1.2km of single circuit 220kV transmission line from the existing 220kV terminal tower at West Angelas 220/33kV substation to the landing gantry at the new West Angelas Power Station.

The transmission line included the installation of 4 x steel lattice towers up to 42m including the construction of pad and chimney type foundations, construction of a new access track, assembly and erection of towers including electrical hardware and the installation of single circuit configuration conductors  and OPGW.

The project faces severe interface issues as the site included several other work fronts within the proximity of the transmission line, which required daily coordination with all stakeholders. Environmental requirements included the rehabilitation of tower sites and access tracks constructed.
